Redrawn comics of frolics past for submission consideration 7/7
So here it is. The final redraw. I believe that the changes would be obvious to just about anyone so I feel there is no need to explain them. One thing I will say though, it amazes me just how much I consider my own personal improvement when it comes to art in just two short years. Redrawing these comics from times past has been not only a fun little challenge but an eye opener as well. I thank all of you who have suffered this past week with no new material from me. I promise a new comic tomorrow! I also promise to stop ranting below these little doodles! Thank you guys for sticking it out! -chuckHarrison

Redrawn comics of frolics past for submission consideration 6/7

Above is another one of those comics that most people either 'get' and love or yell at me about. 'What the heck are those things?' was the usual statment. Well, their scrubbing bubbles...like the ones that swim around the already clean toilet bowls in tv commercials. And for the redraw I tried my hardest to convey that...got pictures of the little freaks and really really really really....I think you get it. -chuckHarrison

Redrawn comics of frolics past for submission consideration 5/7
Once again, in case you can't tell the one on the left is our redone version. And the only reason I chose to redo this comic instead of just submitting it 'as is' is really because I wanted it to look better. Yet, while I type this I am realizing that it could very well be debatable. Above is one of my most well received comics to date and maybe tampering with it will cause some sort of space time flux...I don't know. I'm half awake and I woke up just to post this...what do you think? -chuckHarrison

Redrawn comics of frolics past for submission consideration 4/7
This comic has a special meaning to me. When I was just a wee Chuck living and growing in the humid industrial tropics of southern Florida there was still a great many things that I couldn't do. One of them being an in-ability to look over the tops of gas station counters. The only thing I could really see aside from the gut of the cashier were the Florida lotto signs. They featured a big pink flamingo. The zoo also had dozens of these odd birds and I was always happy to see them. As far as the above comic is concerned...well, its special because its the first. Not the first one I ever drew, but its the first because I used to scream the punch line at the flamingos in the zoo who had both feet in the drink. -chuckHarrison

Redrawn comics of frolics past for submission consideration 3/7

This is one of my favorites. There, I said it. But, as you can see with the original on the right my plan to use 'real stars' leads to...well....something not quite what I originally had in mind. That and I think I fixed the colors. -chuckHarrison

Redrawn comics of frolics past for submission consideration 2/7

In case you can't tell the one to the left is the re draw...well its more like a partial redraw than a total one. You see, I really loved the crayon rendition of ol Mona there but I always hated the way I drew the kid. Epically after the realization that I had made him right handed. "Damn," I thought to myself, "Leo was a lefty just like me...and even though I'll never be as good as he was I do think he'd appreciate it if that little brat was a lefty, I do I do!" Aside from that the inspiration for this little comic came from my two year old Elijah whose fondness for crayon graffiti art rivals that of any other kid I've ever known. -chuckHarrison

Redrawn comics of frolics past for submission consideration 1/7

As many of you may know I am currently getting the Daily Comic ready for syndication submissions. Some of them are fine to go 'as is' and others...well others need a reboot. I really enjoy the concept but the art lacks. So, I've taken on the not so daunting task of re drawing some of my old favorites that were done all the way back in 2007. For the next week I will unveil to you (dear reader) a side by side comparison of new and old, in that order. -chuckHarrison
